convince yourself that everything is all right

intense weekend! friday night chasity and i went to walden books to get our harry potter books. it was pretty weak...there was no insane crazy party like at barnes and noble, but we got our books and that's all that matters. we went to steak n shake afterward and ate, and then headed back to jason's house for the zelda sleepover. the sleepover was fun, but not nearly as intense as we planned it to be. we "conquered" masterquest but didn't get to start majora's mask. and we were all tired so we ended up going to bed instead of staying up all night like we planned...but we didn't go to sleep until like 5:30, so we got about 4 and a half hours of sleep before jason and i had to get up and go to work. working on saturday was sweet except i felt sick after the insane amount of icecream i ate. jason and i are really bad together...oh well. icecream is effin amazing.
after work i came home for a bit and then chasity and i left for columbus. we hung out on high street for a while at this really cool record store, and i got sucked into buying third eye blind for 2 bucks and a blink 182 sticker for my car for another 2 bucks. it was worth it. that record store was sweet and it made me miss threshold a lot...i wish we had a cool music store around that sold used cds and whatnot, and actually had a good selection. anyway, after that we got in line and went inside newport, only to have to wait for about 2 hours before the opening band started. it was really freaking boring and cold because they had the AC cranked up, so it was kind of lame. we found alicia and her gang of the thornboroughs and katherine so we talked to them for a while and ended up standing with them for the whole show which was cool. we didn't feel as lame and out of place around all the 21 year olds with their giant cups of beer, plus they had a good spot on the balcony.
the opening band, minibar, was really really good. i was very pleasantly surprised because i didn't even know who was opening, and i had never heard them before, so i'm glad they turned out to be good. their bassist was flippin sweet...when they first came out, he was smoking a cigarette with no hands, and playing bass at the same time. then he started singing too! it was impressive. he played bass for pete yorn too, and he totally rocked. he was this crazy bearded, long-haired guy

and he sang backup and had a really good voice.
pete yorn was awesome. closet was amazing...the minibar bassist, sid, sang backups and it was rad. and pete yorn played drums on for nancy, and it was kickass. minibar's drummer was this freakin crazy random guy too...he was so funny. they closed with murray which was awesome, and they even played just another. it was so sweet. all in all, it was a great show and i was very impressed.
anyway...after the show we went to steak n shake on high street, and then came home and i went straight to bed. jason called and woke me up at like 1:30 and talked to me for a little bit about how he was buzzed. and i was like OHMMMMMMM...and then i fell back asleep. haha i missed out on all the crazyness last night but there will be plenty more of that to come next week when adam and joe come. i'm so excited!
but yeah...this morning my dad called and woke me up at like 9 this morning and i got up and got ready and we drove down to lake hope for the family picnic. it got rained out so we ended up going to the park in mcarthur by my grandma's house, but it was cool. i ate too much, and spent a lot of time staring off into space because i was so tired and listening to my dad and uncle pick on my little cousins. could've been worse though.
now i'm home and i need to get out and do something or i'm going to end up falling asleep and then waking up at like 5 in the morning and not being able to go back to sleep. so i'm out.
